4 Forego
FOREGO is probably right - I can see the EGO but I can't see where the Resign fits in. Forego means to go before someone/something (not the same as forgo)
4 for--foregoego
sorry meant forego ( for-ego)
5 navies ?(n-a-vie-s)
Excellent quinie. Can you explain for me please how FOREGO fits in with RESIGN as i'm trying to learn how to do cryptics
factorfiction, forego is a variant spelling of forgo
1 windlass is a hoist but I can't make it fit the clue
Okay thanks quinie. I though forgo/forego meant GO WITHOUT not RESIGN. or Go BEFORE
Anyway I always though FOREGO was a different word to FORGO, and that when FOREGO is used instead of FORGO it's a misspelling not an accepted variant- although I accept spellings do change over time owing to accepted use/misuse. Is it an American spelling?
