Hi, Just got new Leather Dining Chairs..( Boasting) anyway, can anyone recomend the best way to preserve the leather from drying out . as the dining room gets the sun all day and apart from having the curtains drawn all the time thought a leather wax etc might help..

my mum and dad bought new leather chairs lately and were told (who knows if it is true) that due to it being a good leather they should not have to use anything on it or treat it with anything for at least a year. They were told only to use slightly damp cloth if there were any marks on it. On the other hand my sister bought a new suite and was told it was important to use a particular type of leather wipe on it to keep it moist and stop the leather cracking. Sorry cant give you a difinite answer but my immediate thought would be that if it is in the sun it really is going to get faded/damaged. Found this on another site that might help. http://answers.yahoo....20080105183414AAZ0Zeb
just treat it like your own skin the sales woman told me... keep it moisturised with a leather moisturiser, i use one from morrisons, comes in a jar and smells lovely. use it every week
You can buy leather wipes now at any large supermarket, I use them the arms of my leather suite to stop them getting grubby.
