There must be hugely conflicting views on this. What happens now ? Is the whale put down ?

How easy would it be to release it back to the wild after so long in captivity.

Clue in the name... 'Killer'...
and hasn't he done it before, so that makes him a serial killer.
That whale is a serial killer so I think it should be given life imprisonment. No wait, too late.
Apparently this is the third fatality involving this particular Killer Whale. It's not the Whale's fault, maybe they should release it back into the wild.

It should never have been in captivity for amusement purposes in the first place...
I'm pretty sure it would survive ok peri, it would start hunting for itself as the killer instinct would still be there
Well that's what happens when you take a wild animal and coup it up for the entertainment of the public.

Never ever trust ANY animal - they always have the ability to revert to type.

Barmaids - men and animals eh! :-)
I would think it would be crueler to release into the wild now
It was a bit of Darwinian Theroy in action. As has been said, when putting yourself into something elses enviroment I would suggest you don't go swimming in a big goldfish bowl with a fish whose first name is Killer!!!
''I would suggest you don't''

Unless you're happy to face the potential consequences... which this Trainer obviously was as he knew this particular Whale had killed before...
The whale is not at fault, that's their instinct by nature.
Yep, the whale was doing what those whales do.

They can hardly justify croaking the poor thing.

I didn't heat that they were JJ - just wondering about what the consequences will be
i think the whale will be ok. I heard it has hired OJ Simpson's lawyer
The one time I've been to SeaWorld, the whale show was cancelled ...

... because the whales were having a mardy !

So they do have a track record of being a bit touchy.
