I grow fuchsias every year and last year had a problem with capsid bug on the leaves and making holes in the buds. I have looked at all the spray insecticides like bug clear in the garden centre but not one of them mentions capsid bug by name. every other sort of bug but not capsid. I would like anyone to help me with a solution to this problem. Is there anything you can buy specifically for capsid bug? If not, does anyone have any home made remedies that are effective? Fortunately, I seem to grow healthy plants apart from this pesky creature, they do not ruin the plants but the leaves look unsightly with all these little lacy like holes and when they get at the buds, the flowers still open but look at bit odd and half eaten. Many thanks for any suggestions.

Many thanks Robinia, I do not like using pesticides unless I absolutely have to not wanting to kill the ladybirds, but when you have gone to the trouble of growing things yourself from scratch, I am going to become armed and dangerous! Yes I have the dreaded lily beetle also and go round picking them off. Not too many vine weevil thank goodness which is surprising as I have lots of tubs and containers in the summer. Anyway thanks again, I suppose its because capsid bug were not mentioned on the labels of various pest killers, I wondered if they would work on them.
