Spend money first on topping up the loftspace insulation up to at least 300mm of fibreglass or equivalent. If you've done that, cavity insulation is probably the next most valuable money saver.
Ring a few local companies for a site visit to assess your property and advice.

I'd say yes, as I have it, and it does pay for itself.

The people who do it will advise you best.
