As usual, I did my monthly history and browsing deletion plus scan and, for the first time, I could not access my Answerbank account. I did it all again to see if it would work but it doesn’t. It just keeps saying “Oops something went wrong with this account.” I can’t access my profile or post on it. I asked Answerbank for advice and they said they would get back to me but didn’t. I can still access my account on my IPhone luckily which is how I can post this. Any suggestions? I don’t want to lose my account or Avatar

This must be very frustrating for someone who does their level best to keep maintaining a PC on a regular basis. Kustard, sorry I don't have a solution but I do hope you can resolve it. Disappointing that AB has not replied as yet...

Tried a different browser with the new password?

Everything suggested has been tried Barry. It’s so good of you to keep thinking but I am so fed up with the whole thing I am putting it to bed unless AB deign to reply. Wonderful (not) that the Spare Ed said he would reset my password and obviously couldn’t Thanks to all who tried to help ❤️
It's a puzzle, Kustard, and I do love a puzzle.
Not so much when it's my ptoblem though
Kustard and Barry - you two could meet up and fix it between you☺

Kustard - if you have tried everything then it is either something so simple that it is being overlooked or something really really complicated and weird.

I hope that you manage to resolve the issue. Did you take a screen shot of the error message?

No Wolf. It flashes on and off so quickly you barely have time to read it. Just a thought if I post something really racist and sexist and blasphemous might someone from
AB make contact lol!!!
Clear your browser's cache.

Then try again:
https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/user/request_password_reset.php

[NB: Make sure that the email address you enter is the actually one that you registered on AB with!]
When you access AB on your phone are you using an AB mobile site?

Or does it have the normal address? https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/

I
^^^ The 'mobile' URL for The AnswerBank (i.e. the one that started with 'm.') was discontinued several years ago, Wolfie. (The late Woodelf used to use that address on his PC, as it was much easier for his screen reader to cope with. He had all sorts of problems when it no longer worked).

The AnswerBank now has the same URL across all three versions of the site. (i.e. the desktop, tablet and phone ones). AB's server detects the type of device that the request is coming from and then sends out the appropriate version of the site to it.
You are a spoil sport Chris. I was sure I was on to something.

There is a website that flickers on my laptop but never loads properly. Not this one though! It is something to do with my settings. I just don't visit it.

IT'S BACK, IT'S BACK!!!!! You won't believe this. I am back on board. I did nothing any different - just deleted my password as I have done everyday since this happened and typed it in again and it said "Welcome back Kustard". I will miss our discussions but thank you so much everyone. Now that I sorted, I can't access my Virgin emails this morning but found out that is a glitch with Virgin and no one else can either!!!!
Yay!!!!!
At blinking last. It's still a mystery though.
Nice to have a little break from emails, I find

Correct Barry!!! As long as it doesn’t happen again when I clear my browsing history. Re the emails. Virgin switched over the mobile to 02 last night and I wanted to change the password on the new account but can’t because they have sent a link to the email address which of course is not working. Oh for the days before technology. I’m getting too old for this!!
Never too old, Kustard.
