Barry, that number takes you through to a site called *** consumer. I'm wary! Pis***

I found that on Google. And various other numbers. But these companies charge. There seems to be no way of actually getting a number on the amazon website itself.
Oh! I got that number from here: https://www.theguardian.com/money/2017/sep/07/amazon-premium-rate-refund
"...while Amazon says it has no connection with any premium rate numbers. “We operate a freephone number – 0800 279 7234 – or customers can visit our website to request a call back, or email us,” says a spokesperson."
I have called that number, it is definitely a freephone number and it was definitely Amazon Customer Service that answered
you can request they call you too
I use Amazon on line chat and if this does not work request a call back. Works well

I had telephone call which assumed was a scam saying if I didn't pay my prime membership they would take £90.00 from my bank. The phone call came from our telephone area code!

/There’s a problem with your Amazon Prime membership payment method
As a result, your Amazon Prime membership may not continue automatically. If we cannot charge your preferred payment method, we will try to charge another card on file. Update Your Payment Method/

Now this has appeared on Amazon when I log in.

and is it true? are you expecting prime to renew soon?
Question Author
Barry thanks. I got through on that number and as you say it was Amazon. Amazon have confirmed the phone call was a scam, as I thought. I had put the phone down without saying a word!

As for the message about zprime they can't understand it because my payments are all up to date and there are no problems.

Thank you Barry and others

I'm going to change my Amazon password!!

It sounds very much like a scam. When my Amazon Prime was ending, every time I went onto the site it flagged up a reminder. As I intended to let it lapse I just got a message to let me know I didn't have it any more. No phone calls involved.

Thank you ubasses.

Haven't a clue why I got that flagged up message. Neither has Amazon!!
Go through the customer Services option at the bottom of any Amazon page

I tried that but it wasn't working. I think they may have some problems today. I also tried online chat and it took me through a list of my bought items !
