Its only October and I'm already feeling the cold.

Trying hard not to put the heating on, bought some big fleeces, wooly socks and other thicker clothes which has helped, but my hands are now cold.

I refuse to have to wear gloves in my own home, im going to have to cut back elsewhere come January & February so i can have to heating on.

Still haven't put the heating on, nor brought out the dreaded fleeces which I seem to have to live in all winter. I think I might have to give in when the clocks go back at the end of the month, though.
As I've said numerous times, Darcey: get an electric blanket if you don't have one!
How about some thermal undies. Use mine a lot
Surely with all the subsidies, everyone can have the heating on!
Lit the woodburner tonight
Smashing!
haven't you got any old boyfriends you could burn?
I am so sorry to read that, Darcey. It’s heartbreaking that folk should be suffering like this today.
I have very cold hands. I have a hand warmer that charges using a standard phone charger. I love it. I’ll get Dave to put a link up tomorrow. Take care…x

Goodgoalie - electric blanket is not really practical when i have stuff to do, might be ok for sitting down in the evenings. Gness - the hand warmer sounds good.
there are reusable hand warmers that don't last terribly long and one-off types that should go for most of the day. All the same, gloves should work out a lot cheaper than either of them. I get cold feet rather than hands and I just wear as many socks as it takes. I know hands need to be more flexible than feet but in your position I'd be looking for lightweight thermal gloves to wear whenever I'm not actually using my hands.

There are a few reviews complaining about short run times - but they tend to be people using them continuously on the highest setting in cold outdoor situations - gness uses hers to get her hands nice and warm and then intermittently to top up the warmth - she charges every couple of days in winter.

This is the third winter and it still charges fully and works as well as when first bought.
