Mrs Braverman can hardly be held responsible for the forces in special measures before she became Home secretary, Greater Manchester Police 2020. How typical of contributors to this site to continue to blame somebody for something they haven't done even when it's mentioned in the piece the contributor quoted.

Changing Minister does not absolve the Government of current outcomes. The replacement is continuing Government Policy, unless they change it.
So the new Home Secretary can be disingenuous if she is still supporting Priti Patel’s past incompetence.
Likewise we have a new Chancellor, but the Government is still to blame fore the dire mess we are currently in.

The 'do nothing' part wasn't aimed at you, gromit. It was aimed at the world in general.
I can see now how it might be interpreted that way and humbly apologise for my 'clumsy' writing style.
And just as I tried to apologise my computer went into special measures.
Spicerack,
Do you believe that their will be any improvement at all in policing in England? Six months from now, will we be hailing Braverman’s success?
I am sceptical. Saying what you wish to happen, and actually doing it are entirely different things.
I suspect crime will get a lot worse as the cost of living crisis really begins to bite.
