Quote: "Most payments are made automatically between November and December. You should get your money by 13 January 2021". Source: https://www.gov.uk/winter-fuel-payment So it's still quite early to expect that everyone who's eligible should have received the payment by now.

I have the letter to say I will receive £100, but so far not received it into bank account. Need to wait till 23rd December to query it.
Strange how some people get the letter before the payment and others, like me, get it afterwards.
On my letter it says If you have not received your payment by 23 December 2020 call us for free on 0800 731 0160.
Now hold on just a minute, what is this heating allowance that you old folks get in England? I mean how cold does it get? We old folks in Canada don't get any. In the area I live, it can go down to -20 and stay there for a while quite often. And coupled with the wind-chill factor it can feel like -35! Please send me some heating allowance. My postal code, for the season is H0H OHO:)
It was introduced by the government almost 20 years ago. It was a political ploy to retain the pensioner vote. At the time it was £250 but has since been reduced to £200. Most people don't need it for the purpose intended but the government are now stuck with it. To remove it would be committing political suicide.
