Would anyone have a rough idea how much a Vauxhall Nova saloon would have been new in the mid 80s?

Many thanks.

I have overestimated somewhat. From this Vauxhall-Opel price guide dated 19th Aug 1985, the 'On The Road' cost for Nova saloons are in the range: 1.0 2-door ... £3,859.10 1.2 GL 2-door ... £5,117.88 http://tinyurl.com/sn4ps/19.08.85.jpg But by 21st Oct 1987 had increased to: 1.0 2-door ... £4,729.58 1.3 L 4-door ... £6,350.01...

Difficult one that, Darcey. Plenty of info on Nova's but can't find any new prices from that era. Could be that different Vauxhall main dealerships offered different discounts, although I can't even find the factory list prices.

No i couldn't find anything either, but thanks for trying.
Mid 80s would be a Mk1 and would have engine/trim levels for petrol engines from 1.0L base to the 1.6L GTEi or GSi.

The only Nova pricing I have found is for a Mk2 (89-93) 1.4 SR (top end of 1.4 trim) at £7,985.

I suppose an earlier, lesser engine/trim could be somewhere around £5,500-£6,000
