Hi all, my landlord has had my very damp wall treated. A membrane was put on the wall and it was plastered. He also had the Nuaire system in the loft and loft vents and fans in kitchen and bathroom and trickle vents installed in windows.
My question is ,how long do i wait to decorate and do i need to treat the newly plastered wall with anything special. Thanks

I'd also check first with the landlord. My daughter recently moved into a property which had been damp-proofed and her landlord has forbidden her to do anything for a few months. Is she does, and it goes pear shaped, she will be liable for any repair work.

After the plaster has dried, I would apply a couple of coats of contract matt emulsion. This paint contains no additives such as vinyl. This allows any moisture in the wall to pass through the paint layer. Leave it for a couple of weeks and if there's no problems, decorate as usual.
BTW, thin the first coat with 20% water.
