Nothing better than a good cover (Sinéad O'Connor's version of "Nothing Compares 2 U", or Jimi Hendrix's "All Along the Watchtower"), nothing worse than a bad one (Rolf Harris's "Stairway to Heaven" - wrong on so many levels!).

VE....difficult to argue with about Glynis Johns, who Sondheim first wrote the song for. But Dame Judy was so wonderful at the Proms that year.

I could also have added Judy Collins, one of the purest voices of her generation :::
