Baldric is correct and there is also the possibility that regularly turning off the Router will send signals back to the telephone exchange to suggest that there is a fault on your line and cannot handle the speeds you are getting. The result can then be that initial speeds will not progress to an optimum level but instead, automatically will be decreased.
