That's twice I've seen a Megabus along our road, yet according to their website, we're not a published route.

On both occaisions the bus was seen heading west on A47 at Burlingham in Norfolk. Why would that be?

At a guess, First Group are currently short of serviceable coaches to operate on the X1 Lowestoft/Great Yarmouth to Norwich, Kings Lynn & Peterborough route, so they've simply leased a coach from Stagecoach (who've got some of their 'Megabus' fleet available after they've cut out unprofitable routes). i.e. what you're seeing might be just an ordinary X1...

With or without passengers?

Is there a depot nearby or could it be a shortcut, when not carrying passengers, to anywhere?
Hmmm.

The Megabus website refuses to accept Great Yarmouth as somewhere that you can book to or from but it's shown on their route map here:
http://uk.megabus.com/Route%20map.aspx

They were definitely operating on that route from 1 June last year:
https://uk.megabus.com/megabuscom-launches-new-low-fares-coach-services-for-great-yarmouth.aspx?accept=perm
with the schedule shown here
http://andysbusblog.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/megabus-m37-being-extended-to-great.html
That indicates that the westbound service should be seen around Burlingham at roughly 10am.
does anyone else think megabus's mascot, sid the driver, is one creepy looking dude?
Dara O'Briain cadging a lift home?
Mushroom, just went to have a look on their website. Very creepy looking guy, bit like Benny Hill ???

Seen today at about 12.40pm, but not close enough to notice passengers or empty. I couldn't find Gt Yarmouth on the site either, how would you book that Route? I can't see the route map on my ipad.
Aha!

It seems that the Great Yarmouth route only lasted for three months:

Perhaps someone has forgotten to tell the drivers?

Oh yes, being used as replacement buses, very possible. Thanks very much.
