apparently not as easy to do nowadays.

Mini Boo is partaking in Bikeability this week at school.

https://bikeability.org.uk/

At the beginning of this week, they asked her class how many could ride a bike, Mini Boo stated that out of a class of 30 (approx) only about 5 put up their hands! I was stunned. I was daftly under the impression that by 10/11 pretty much all kids could ride a bike- well apparently not.

Isn't it sad?

Very sad. I don't remember being taught how to ride a bike...but I was taught, that's how young I was. I was shocked recently about the amount of people that can't swim.

I cannot ride a bike. When I was young my parents said if I pass my eleven plus they would buy me a bike. I passed, they said they couldn't afford one. They did buy my younger brother one though a few years later.
I did try using a friends bike, I fell into a hedge, so I never tried again.
Shaney....I nearly drowned when I was 3 so from then on my mum and nan took us swimming at least once a week. I was swimming by the age of 4. I know being able to swim doesn't stop you from drowning but it gives you a fighting chance. Mum did the same with all the grand kids as well.
