When's the best time of year to go to different parts of the world

A. It depends what you are looking for. If you're heading to Europe and it's sun you're after, summer is the obvious choice. However, also bear in mind that if your planning a city visitit could be avery hot and crowded few days, expecially during the school summer holidays.

Q. What about Jamaica When's the best time to go there

A. Jamaica is an all round destination because there are so many things to do. It has a lovely tropical climate and maximum temperatures along the coast can reach 27-30 celcius. Up in the Blue Mountains temperatures can get as low as 20 celcius. There is a rainy season which extends from May to October and it can be a little more humid. The peak tourist season is from mid-December to mid-April, with Christmas and Easter especially popular.

Q. And the Far East

A. The best time to see Japan is in the spring and autumn. Summer tends to be warm, and winter can be very cold. Hong Kong is dry and cold in the winter and very hot in the summer. The best time to visit is in autumn, from September to December. Singapore is always temperate. There is no wet or dry season. Sea breezes can lower the temperature and there are frequent showers all year round.

Q. What about Australia

A. Any time is a good time to go to Australia. The summer (December to February) can be uncomfortably hot with the exception of Tasmania which is a bit more temperate. Up north, it is still very warm at this time and the seas can be teeming with jellyfish. From June to August thingscool down. This is a good time to visit Queensland or the outback.

Q. When's a good time to go to Iceland

A. Every year after 31 August someone 'puts the lights out' in Iceland. Many travellers have been disappointed to find the summer season ends so abruptly and many places become inaccessible after mid Septemberas the country prepares for winter and long dark days.

Q. And Sweden

A. The sun shines between May and late July, but in mid August it can get very hot and sometimes wet. Many hostels and camping grounds are only open in the summer.
