UK Holidaymakers Attracted By ‘Enhanced’ Haven Camps

16:36 Mon 24th May 2010 |

We all look forward to our two weeks away, for some that means lying on a beach sunning ourselves. However, for those of us with families something a bit more entertaining and economical is required. Staying in the UK for your holiday is becoming increasingly popular in the current financial climate and holiday camps are a great way to get the most for your money.

UK holidaymakers could consider heading over to an "enhanced" Haven camp, where a number of activities have been announced for a bargain break. The company has announced it has improved its kids club, where youngsters can take part in arts and crafts, cricket and treasure hunts.

There are also things to do for all the family - including sports and picnics - it has asserted. A family It's A Knockout-style challenge takes place in the swimming pools at all of the company's locations across the country - a "wet and wacky" activity that everyone can join in with.

The regular "Haven's got Talent" contest will be encouraging families to get up on stage and perform together. They say "It's more the Osmonds or Jackson Five than Susan Boyle but if your family has a special talent, we want to see you on stage!" commented a spokesman for the holiday camp company.

Annabel's Creative Kitchen gives kids the chance to roll up their sleeves, put on their aprons and get upfront and messy with cakes and cookies, without mum getting grouchy about the mess in her kitchen.

The firm has 35 camps in total, in parts of the country such as Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Essex. Most sites are situated in the country side or near the coast with access to beaches and all are suitable for kids of all ages from toddlers to teenagers.
