Two Thirds Of Us Fall Out While On Holiday

16:36 Mon 24th May 2010 |

We have all been there, we look forward to our two weeks away all year then as soon as we get in the car to go to the airport a fight breaks out. It doesn’t matter if you are going abroad or staying in the UK, whether it is Timbuktu or Clacton, sometimes the close proximity of our loved ones make stress levels go through the roof.

It seems this is not an uncommon problem for us. A summer holiday can often result in two out of three people falling out with friends or loved ones, it has been claimed.

The traveller’s cheques department of American Express has conducted research which shows that nearly two thirds of holidaymakers argue even before the plane has left the ground. Respondents indicated that what to pack was a big issue, as well as getting to the airport on time and the quality of the accommodation.

According to a director at American Express Travellers Cheques, "holidaymakers have a lot to think about when they go way", especially financially.

She said: "The last thing they are going to want to worry about is money. Sorting your travel money in advance of your holiday can alleviate this and buying travellers cheques can mean you have one less thing to worry about."

It is not unusual for arguments to break out; travelling is stressful enough at the best of times and the added time spent packed closely with your spouse and children can tip even the most calm of people.

As well as money travel insurance is a must even for a short break in the UK. Go online and get the best deals. Be sure to check the small print and ensure the policy you get covers all the activities you plan to do while away.
