Is Florida more than just a Theme Park?

Whatever your interests, from music to archaeology and thrill rides to outer space, Florida has something for everyone. If you want to lounge around and enjoy the beautiful surroundings on one of the many unspoilt beaches, or be more adventurous and take a safari or visit one of the world famous theme parks Florida the ‘Sunshine State’ has to offer.

Attractions in Florida:

Orlando: Is home to numerous theme parks, and has a population close to 186,000. The main attraction being Disney World which covers a massive 47 square miles, however central Florida is also home to many retirees who can easily live an affordable lifestyle, due to the lack of state income tax and economical residential options available.

Other attractions include Busch Gardens Tampa, SeaWorld Orlando and Universal Orlando, or less obvious alternatives such as Orlando Science Centre, or browse Winter Park’s renowned art galleries and beautiful boutiques.

Palm Beach: Offers an enormous selection, whether you are into golfing, diving, fishing, culture, elite shopping, luxurious hotels, warm ocean breezes, historical art or eating local cuisine, Palm Beach proposes a vast amount of choice, and draws curious visitors and new residents alike.

Miami and Miami Beach: A city of vibrant night-life, sugary sands and turquoise waters encompassing a place dedicated to sports enthusiasts, from baseball to football, hockey to basketball. Things really start to liven up after dark, bars and restaurants along the sea front come alive with ambiance and delicious cuisine. Due to the narrow streets and volume of traffic, bicycles and mopeds are favourable modes of transport within Miami with both its traditional and unconventional customs.

Daytona Beach: Attracts millions to its spectacular shores every year, with amusements and concession stands it makes Daytona one of the perfect holiday destinations. Known for being the ultimate motorsports attraction, there are a variety of hands on experiences as well as spectator opportunities available.

With 76.8 million visitors in 2004, Florida is the top travel destination in the world in regards to tourism. The tourism industry has an economic impact of $57 billion on Florida’s economy.

Florida taxes rank low in terms of the tax burden placed on residents. Based on income, property and other state and local tax collections, the Tax Foundation research organization ranks Florida among the lowest tax states.

A state for all seasons:

The number of people who move to Florida each day is on average 1,000. So just what attracts this many people? Offering 1,200 beaches stretching across 1,800 miles of coastline, it could be the enormous size that draws its visitors, or could it be the tropical climate, breathtaking gardens, intriguing museums, or huge variety of art galleries.

Whether you're looking for a peaceful summer getaway, a spring break, or an escape from the cold winter climate, Florida has what it takes to cater for all your needs. With all that the state has to offer it may be tough to decide which place/attraction takes your fancy. Wherever you decide to visit you are within driving distance to most towns so have the opportunity to see what adventures await you in the sunshine state of Florida.
