Effortlessly blending the old and new, Tokyo is a city that defies definition. Cutting edge technology glitters beside ancient temples, flashing neon lights  bathe its fascinated visitors, and shining skyscrapers tower above stunning Shinto shrines. Tokyo is a metropolitan city with a history and a heart that captivates every visitor.

Bright Lights of the City:

Japan's most famous city, Tokyo, is a vast metropolis full of stunning modern skyscrapers and sparkling neon lights, which has grown in size and stature to become Japan's capital city.

Tokyo fashion has always created a stir throughout the world, and if you’re looking for the latest fashion trends you have definitely come to the right place. Department stores and exclusive boutiques stock every fashion label imaginable and with department stores such as the famous Ginza and Ikebukuro's giant Seibu and Tobu, which is the largest in the world, bargain hunting becomes a sport.

Roppongi Hills has emerged as a popular area for high-end shopping, with many major global brands it is well worth a visit. Other department stores in Tokyo are Mitsukoshi, Sogo, Marui, and Takashimaya. The Marui Men store in Shinjuku has eight floors of high-end fashion for men, so even those men who loathe shopping trips will enjoy browsing the amount of shops purely dedicated to men’s fashion.

Located on the eastern coast of Honshu Island and next to Tokyo Bay, the city is amongst the world's most important economic centres. With fast bullet trains, a huge subway network, a truly chaotic rush hour, areas of concrete jungle, historic temples, the Imperial Palace and many enormous shopping arcades, Tokyo has everything that you would expect from a city of such life and potential.

While in this vast city you should visit Japan's iconic Mount Fuji, on Tokyo’s most popular day tour, then return to Tokyo by the famous Shinkansen Bullet train. You'll enjoy lunch on Mt Fuji, cruise Lake Ashi and ride the aerial cableway at Mount Komagatake for sweeping views of the celebrated Hakone National Park. At 3,776 meters Mount Fuji is Japan's highest mountain, and provides amazing views from such elevation. Occasionally, on clear days, Fujisan's perfectly shaped volcano slopes can be seen from Tokyo and Yokohama, but views are always subject to weather conditions as mountain weather is notoriously unpredictable. Visibility tends to be better during the colder months, in the early morning and late evening. So if you're an early bird or a late night chick you may be able to witness some of the best views in the world.

Things to do in Tokyo:

With the enormous choice of nightlife venues for you to discover, from sleek and sublime to the rowdy and raucous bars, you won’t run out of places to explore. One of the most popular bars in the city is Hajime- with its minimalistic design and bright exterior, as well as interior, lighting this bar should definitely be on your must-see-list.

If frenzied, hectic, trendy clubs are your scene then you have chosen the right city. Womb nightclub boasts an enormous dancefloor always packed with a lively crowd looking for fun. If you have the cash to splash then head to Alife - which embodies a huge multi-level disco palace with a strict dress code, so get your glad rags on and hit the town. You should expect a high admission charge though, after all palaces aren’t cheap you know.

So, if you want to be treated like royalty - and let’s face it who doesn’t? Then Tokyo could be the perfect place to soak up the intoxicating atmosphere, relax and be treated like a queen.
