Some say the best things come in threes, which would explain why the Cayman Islands are so popular. With exotic and tropical locale combined with sparkling waters and sweeping beaches these islands offer the perfect holiday paradise.

Caribbean Activities:

Beaches, reefs and wrecks are just some of the underwater delights awaiting visitors looking to explore what these islands have to offer. The Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman is one of the most popular beaches with wide sandy stretches reaching out to touch the crystal waters that enclose an enchanting underwater world of fascinating coral reefs and a huge variety of captivating marine life.

If you want to encounter some more of the underwater enchantments you should investigate some of the offshore reefs like Little Caymans Bloody Bay Wall, which is well renowned for diving and offers a huge array of things to see and places to explore. Wreck diving is also popular around the islands; particularly Cayman Brac, where a Russian warship was sunk in the late 1990’s, contributing to the various things to investigate while diving in the beautiful cool waters surrounding the islands. If you prefer to stay in the shallows then you could embark on a snorkelling adventure where you can snorkel alongside southern stingrays at Stingray City, located in North Sound on Grand Cayman. These shallow waters are home to a profusion of stingrays; and visitors can get right up close with these intriguing marine life.

After a day of sunbathing and snorkelling in the ocean you will feel exhausted and need a little TLC to prepare you for what happens after the sun goes down. For ultra indulgence and rejuvenation, chill out in one of the hotel spas alongside Seven Mile Beach; these have great views and plenty of pamper treatments to make you feel energised and chilled out.

After the sheer beauty of the island, comes the quality and impressive dining scene; the Cayman Islands boasts a cosmopolitan mix of American, European and native Caymanian cuisines. But, if you want to save your adventurous side to the activities and attractions on offer, rather than sample some of the local delicacies, then you have plenty of American chain restaurants to make you feel at home. The Grand Old House in George Town, the Tex-Mex roadhouse-style Lone Star Bar & Grill, and the Royal Palm's award-winning Reef Grill & Beach Bar should put any homesick appetite at ease.

Of course, those wanting to truly experience Grand Cayman must try the local cuisine – fresh-from-the-sea Cayman mahi mahi served with akee, conch fritters, Cayman rock lobster, and turtle steak with plantains – at restaurants like the Edge, the Almond Tree House, and the colourful Cracked Conch by the Sea.

Nestled in the calm, turquoise waters of the western Caribbean, lies the peaceful Cayman Islands consisting of three islands just 480 miles south of Miami, Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman remain a little piece of paradise.
