how do I convert file pictures to jpeg pictures

how do I convert file pictures to jpeg pictures in my pictures folder I have to open each one using photo viewer.
The only ones that open in the slide sow are the ones that are jpeg

No such thing as file pictures. Jpeg is a type of file or more correctly a file extension.

By "File" pictures, do you mean ones that have no file extension? If so, then you will need to know which format they are. You could try renaming them by putting .jpg on the end to see if they open.

Alternatively, a picture viewer such as IrfanView can open files without an extension if it recognises the format. It's a free program available from www.irfanview.com

What is a "file picture" and how does it differ from your jpeg pictures?

Thanks to Aquariel, they had been copied from a camera and put on a memory stick and downloaded onto pc all of them had no ext. so I just put .jpeg on each and now they load up in any prog.
