I ask the question because (so far as I am concerned ) her name has been missing fronm AB for some months.

It is my view that she was a lovely lady and , although it has been alleged that she obtained her answers from other Internet sites, her responses to my questions were comprehensive and taught me a lot about computer issues........ Ron

Well the internet is where all the worlds knowledge is stored so thats usually the first place everyone goes for answers.
Hi Ron.

Hate to say this but I strongly think dear old Ethel has sadly shuffled off this mortal coil.

"everyone on here has come here for an answer at some point or another"

I haven't!

Anyhow, I think (as others have said) that sadly Ethel is no longer with us :(
Chuck are you saying that you've never asked a question here?

Chuck, you are an exception to that, you are a walking wikipedia anyway!
I have posted 35 questions in total and none of them have been serious looking for a solution to a problem type questions.

Thanks folk for the replies which you have given.

I am somewhat bothered by what could be a fact that Ethel has 'passed -on'.

It is the case that I once asked a question in AB and, as a genuine concern of my problem, she gave to me what she said was a 'Throw-away' e/mail address. Consequently, I did for a while correspond with her, but lost contact when matters were finalised. Unfortunately, I am unable to recall her e/mail address which was lost when my computer was damaged beyond repair when lightening struck my house last July.

Ethel was ,in my opinion, a realy great 'old lady'. She lived in Shropshire and went shopping in Bridgenorth (an area well known to me and Viv ) Unfortunately she did have a severe hearing problem and I feel the Internet was her means of communicating fully with the world around her.

Accordingly I say " Ethel if you are still looking into AB, please say so".
Hi Ron. That's interesting to read as I also kept in touch with Ethel, and she once told me she lived in Dudley.

I sent her a DVD to an address in Dudley and she acknowledged receipt of it, so it is a bit of a mystery.
I`m worried that ChuckFickens will suddenly stop answering our posts. So keep healthy Chuck, and many like you whom come to our aid in times of panic and stress.

Hi mrs.chappie,......The matter gets even more interesting; because Ethel seemed to be well informed on the areas we know in Shropshire and appeared to be living there; but it would appear that she was actually resident in Dudley.

It would be nice to have further info on the dear lady......Ron
I agree Ron, it would be very nice to have some news on Ethel. Our contact stopped abruptly - we used to keep in touch on Skype, but she stopped answering on there, and also didn't answer my emails. I was concerned about her (as an elderly lady living on her own) so one afternoon last year I went to the address I had for her.

I didn't intend to knock on her door as I wasn't sure she'd appreciate an ABer turning up on her doorstep. I just wanted to ask a neighbour if they knew that she was okay. The neighbour told me there was no Ethel living in the Close, but there were 3 places fairly close by, all with a street of a similar name (she said taxi drivers often got them mixed up) and she asked if I had the wrong one. Of course, I didn't know. [:o(
I think we should put in a call to Hercule Poirot?
He would find Ethel!
Hiya Mr.V.

I've been likened to Miss Marple, but give me a few weeks to grow a 'tache and I'll become Hercule Poirot. [:o)

How is Mr. Pickle?
Question Author
I'm now in a pickle because I don't know who Mr Pickle is !!!

There is certainly some room for a good detective on this case.

Perhaps we can pursue matters tomorrow.
Ron,
Pickle is "In A Pickle" who is our neighbour and used to post here.
However,he left due to being bi~polar and being in a bad way depression wise.
He was in a Mental Hospital for some time, and is now at home.
I tried to revive his username for him a little while ago but it appears to have been removed. So if he comes back(unlikely) he will have to use another name.
Thank You for the concern mrs.chappie.
Pickle doesn't really advance much, but isn't getting any worse.
As I said above I am trying to get him to post again on AB,but I don't think he's very keen.
Well.at least he IS at home and not in that victorian hospital.

Can we expect a visit from Hercules Chappie Marple then? LOL
Thanks Mr. V. It's nice to know that he is at least back at home with his partner.
