No Emmie you will not lose Firefox. I have 3 browsers loaded on both my lappie and desktop. Not a bad idea to have a back up browser anyway. If one goes down you can always get online with the other. If you download a second or subsequent browser take care to allow favourites or bookmarks to be copied over. Yo will have to load up your toolbar and taskbar as well, but...

You can have as many browsers as you want.Just download the one you want.It will not affect Firefox.

this is the current problem, trying to check out of sainburys doesn't work, so i have to telephone each time
they suggested trying another browser.
Try Google Chrome. I use it with Firefox as a back-up.

If you download a second or subsequent browser take care to allow favourites or bookmarks to be copied over. Yo will have to load up your toolbar and taskbar as well, but worth the effort. It will not slow down your machine as only one browser is in use at any one time. If you are using the unmentionable you will have to load it on the new browser and you will need to log in on most sites that you use anew.

i have downloaded it i think, however shouldn't it show the Chrome icon someplace, how do i know its fully loaded.
I have Edge, Chrome, and allow IE to stay there..... just because.
Look in you apps or programmes and drag it down, or tick the pin in taskbar box.

i have the icon next to the firefox symbol, presumably that's downloaded..

how do you bookmark pages, as can't seem to see how its done.
Top right corner is a star, click on that.
If it is there Emmie it is downloaded previously. Now if you click on that( maybe you would prefer to log out and close your tabs) and then just click that rather than your usual browser it should launch. You will not have any pinned tabs in you task bar, or favourites/ bookmarks unless you import them from "other browsers". Needs a little bit of homework but can be a lifesaver.
Unless there is a known issue with firefox and Sainsburys website (it has always worked for me) their advice seems odd.
Not that that should deter you from giving it a go of course.
The star to bookmark favourites is in the toolbar. The lower star( sometimes with the three line hamburger sign attached, will open a list of bookmarked pages.
Ta again Emmie. I hope it all went OK if you did indeed load a secondary browser. A little patience and clear thought is always a good thing when undertaking such things coupled with an idea of what your aim really is. I am sure having read your posts that you have these things in abundance. When you posted the question You did not ask for browser recommendations so I did not offer any. However seeing as the deed, so to speak, is now done I will say that anyone who is using W10 would not go far wrong in giving Edge a whirl. I like it and find it fast and smooth with nice modern outlines and simply shown navigation hints. I particularly like the toolbar on Edge and indeed have 19 sites currently showing there, which negates the need to keep delving into the Favourites menu. I have though edited the descriptions that accompany the icons. ie Answerbank=AB. Sky Fantasy Football=FF. etc. You can do this by right clicking on the icon and using the menu that appears. You can use "Rename" or if your memory is good "Show icon Only".
