((sandy)), I thought that was how you measured angles rather than locating areas
same thing Humber, the angle is subtended at the centre of the earth.
^and I've been known to be completely mistaken sometimes....

I was looking at a bottle of rioja, Campo Viejo, the other day and it gave coordinates. I googled them and see the grapes came from an old field near Logrono.
Humber, for measuring angles I'd go the old fashioned way and use a protractor.

Up excrement waterway without means of propulsion?
Question Author
When the world's awash from pole to pole being able to navigate wouldn't be that important. Keeping us all afloat would be the main concern.
water, water every where and all the boards did shrink
exactly sandy, thank you

o ye of little faith, you're in steerage class for that
HS, is your bottom called an orlop deck?
grand vessels have orlop decks stewey, we just have a floor
Question Author
Not a deck? 'Holystoning the floor' somehow doesn't sound right.
I just re-read my question, and the phrasing of it sounds quite cheeky doesn't it?:)
thankfully we have just the one deck sandy, and I'm a martyr to the paint roller rather than the holystone

stewey, not at all cheeky, my bottom is scraped regularly and broadly described as magnificent
Yep, those limpets can cause havok.
...'specially on the wind and water line

has the vinyard been located I wonder?
