You was told this? sorry but if it was not written in the contract then you don't have a leg to stand on. Just like marriage

i think you need to look at your contract - no matter what you were told, you may find there is provision for increase

BT have always been a shyster of a company, few years ago they sold me broadband on a basis of 24/7

After 3 weeks they reneged on the deal because they said "I used it too much"

I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.
Always been very happy with BT, have a fixed 1 year BT broadband with them and their anytime package. I believe with the anytime package that they can increase the line rental if it changes during the year. Think all these providers are useless but find BT more reliable than most. Would not touch Talk Talk with a barge pole they really conned some people I know.
You may find that the contract allows for increases in line with the RPI. This provision is quite common with mobile providers too

dont hold your breath though,Ofcom still havent stopped the "unlimited broadband usage" scam

Too late for you, but Ofcom are currently looking into these contracts whereby prices go up mid-term with the view that people must be given the choice to cancel and go somewhere else l if they wish.

The isps will get around this by raising initial contract prices, they have their secret unspoken of cartel, so theyll all do it, like the power companies they will not lose out one way or another

dont hold your breath though,Ofcom still havent stopped the "unlimited scam"
