I have been working on restoring a photograph using Adobe Photoshop, I made a duplicate before working on it. After completing it I minimized it to see the change on the original and it has disappeared !!! I did not close it, where has it gone or have I got to start again ???

If you saved it go and see if it is where you saved it to.

I did not save it I only minimised it !
If you made a duplicate you must havae been asked to save the original somewhere. I'll be back in a minute.
Have you got your layers palette open. Can you see the original in there? If so you can look at it by clicking on that layer. Also you can hide other layers so that you only have the original layer showing.

I have got the original saved in my documents but no sign of the duplicate that I worked on, I definitely did not close it and If I had it would have asked me if I wanted to save it !

Hmm, don't know then. Maybe you will have to do it again! At least it will be easier 2nd time. (Speaking from experience!)

It is not in the layers palette or the history palette ! Oh dear looks like I might have to start again !

Thanks for your help anyway !
Open up the original document. Then look in layers.
Good luck.

No, not there !
If you've still got the program open you could just try closing it, if you have unsaved work then it will prompt you to save it on close.
