I am trying to burn a DVD, using a new blank disc. When I try to format it, a window tells me it`s write protected. I`ve done many in the past without problems. Why suddenly now? Any suggestions please? Thanks.

Are you sure it's a DVD RW? If it's DVD+/-R then you won't be able to format it.

Definitely DVD-RW. I`ve tried several from a new batch - no change. It`s definitely PC related, as I was burning DVD`s from the same set of blanks only a few weeks ago, with no trouble. If it persists, I`ll try the alternative burn software you recommend. Many thanks folks.
