As a person who has not been on FB for at least five years I think I am right in trying to console my wife about what is happening. Could someone please conform this.

Wife has had rather an acrimonious fall-out with her close family over the past 2 years or so and I do recall that a relative, not really involved but obviously 'friend' to at least one of parties did rather flounce off in a complete fishermans wife's way with a sprinkling of unladylike profanities but basically saying 'sort yourselves out'.

Wife is now getting oddly placed messages from this relative which do not seem to follow any pattern but one tonight was again aimed at someone in particular and was rather derogatory to him/her.

Am I right in assuming that Wife is not necessarily 100% the intended target but is simply getting this message as she is still friends with her. Indeed there might be 63million other persons it could be directed to?

TIA

Well if its on her wall- which is her profile page then its direct to her!?

But if its just the persons "status" and on your wifes homepage then yes directed at anyone at all!!!

What ive done, is "unsubscribed" to some folks updates. They dont know you have done it, an you are still friends- but it takes their updates off of my homepage cos i dont want to read...

Is this a direct "private" message?

Or is it on her newsfeed/homepage?

Or on your wifes personal wall!?? Xx

Definitely not 'private'

I believe on her wall or maybe homepage but she accesses it via a mobile so is different to PC

sounds as though it could be coming up on her 'news feed' which means it
is aimed at someone you're wife is 'friends' with, hopefully.

again check as tinker said.
Ps i use mobile mostly too xx

Thank you - seems she might be being a little paranoid, bless her.

I will advise her to unsubscribe, as tinkerbell suggests, and see if there are any more messages
It saves me reading folks drivel, but would cause me hassel
To delete and they honestly do not know you have done it-

Its easy to be a bit paranoid on facebook!

Best wishes xx
I prefer to delete people, it takes away the grief!
