Is Dab radio any good. Is it worth investing in one? I see reports that they are a flash in the pan and the broadcasts will not last. Any recommendations for a cheap one?

DAB is here to stay and eventually the governments will succumb to pressure from the mobile phone operators and digital operators to shut down the rest of the analogue frequencies.
No DAB in my car yet because there is no retrofit DAB radio from Vauxhall. This is because the DAB broadcast standards are not consistent between UK and Europe and they want to...

The clarity on them is superb, however they appear to have died a death, not used mine in 5 years, I just use the Radio Box app via my iPod now.
I have DAB in the car and the signal quality varies from day to day even on the same road. i spend a lot of time on the A4 and in the morning it can be clear then in the afternnon it's gone and vice versa.

DAB is like a muslim wedding. great service, cr@p reception.
LOL @ doctordb, not heard that expression before!
I had one...it took ages to find a channel.
I have a Pure DMX-25 micro hifi (quite old now), a Pure Siesta radio/alam clock, a Pure PocketDAB1500 and a cheap Tevion from Aldi in the kitchen. I did use the Pure Highway in our last car and once I'd acquired an external antenna was happy with it.
None of them were very expensive and they all work fine.
