Has Anyone Else Given Up On Firefox?

Afternoon,

I used to quite like Firefox. But with the recent caching issues we've been having, and it's new found ability to grind to a halt and steal ALL available memory I'm at a point where I am seriously considering uninstalling it entirely. If it wasn't for the 15% of you who use it on here, I would!

Recently the problems have got really bad with me closing a tab and the label and tab disappearing, but the space where it was remaining. I have a gap-toothed Firefox.

Anyone else want to moan about FF?

Chrome has its issues, but it does have this advantage: https://chrome.google...cnhoeaanfpkfachlfclli

I can deal with FF on here, but on Deviant Art it persistently insists I don't have the latest FF ( which I do) and refuses to let me do anything. I have to use Chrome on that, which since it's a site I'm quite frequently on ticks me off a bit. I'm hoping they sort it out quickly because I only have so much patience however good it's been in the past.

I'm going to make my browser report something really obscure, just so you have a small percentage showing as something like IE2.0 :)
I heard about the problems before I got the nag screen about FF12 so stayed with FF11. I do not have any noticeable problems.

Why not just ChuckFickens 3.0? Feel free to send me coded messages through your user agent settings :)

^^ Show off :)
I've switched to Google Chrome and I find it much better.
so actually number 2 is Safari, which I've never even heard of, and Firefox is near bottom? So much for the cult of Mozilla, then.
I've posted this in Opera just to give its numbers a boost

Have you tried our lovely extension?

Safari is Apple's main browser. As noted above, the Safari stats are mostly Ipad/Iphones and only a small percentage use it elsewhere. About 25% of our traffic is mobile, and most of that is Safari on iphones.
I used FireFox exclusively until that happy day when Google Chrome first appeared.
evian...if you are on a laptop it is probably because your wrist or arm is touching areas around the outside of the touchpad - it can be a bit too sensitive and causes the cursor to move as you say
i have tried chrome and it seemed to crash constantly if i had firefox installed as well and tried to use it simutaneously.
I have no problems with AB and FF, possibly because I'm using the Mac version? It is memory hungry though.
I had nothing but trouble on this site with IE...I've recently changed computers to one which has Firefox and it's fantastic up to now.
I now use safari even when on the desktop or laptop.
I like IE but it has a habit of freezing, something I haven't experienced on safari.
I am on IE7-should I be updating? What are the pros and cons of so doing
"I am on IE7-should I be updating?"

That depends on which version of windows you have, if you have XP then ie7 is the latest version you can install.
Thanks Chuck- I AM on XP so that answers my question.

I found Safari quite unusable last time I tried. Do you use it on XP?
FFAB. Thunderbirds are ... er, "cached"???

Isn't IE8 the latest version for XP?
I switched to Chrome this week after using FF for years.
