Removing irrelevant EM addresses

Hello When asked to sign in to google for an instance when i click EM address i get a few on the drop down which are no longer relevant. How do i remove these to leave just the one.
This also happens when on some sites i am asked for a user name a string of user names comes up on the drop down. Ta

click in the text field, press the down arrow to bring up the list and move down to highlight the one you want to remove and then press delete.
