You know the way you can charge a phone through the USB port?( I think that's what it's called)
Can you do anything similar with a lap-top. Mine has 'cracked up' right next to the power point. Can't make an effective repair because it's close to the hinge. Thanks.

the gubbings hanging out are not dangerous as the voltage is cut right down to around 19 volts, cant you glue it back in and use it carefully after that

whats cracked up the power point, the usb, or the casing,? and no there's no way to charge a laptop through a usb port

The casing around the power point. I kept picking it up by the screen, so it's my own fault, I suppose.
so has the socket gone inside of the casing why cant u use it ?

No, the power cable is still attached to the socket. It's still charging, sort of off and on. I just fancied it was rather dangerous having all those 'gubbings' hanging out of the side of the thing.

Ah, that's interesting. Because it's a big, fat power cable I presumed it was, like, super high voltage or something. I'll stick the cracked bit of casing back and tape it in place till I can get a new one. Cheers, ivor. ;-)
