Am having a problem with IE. It has crashed and when I reload it, it is saying "your last browsing session closed unexpectedly" at the bottom of the screen and continues to try to load and then decides Internet Explorer (Not Responding) and the cursor continues to rotate whilst it is thinking about it. After a while it decides "Internet Explorer has stopped working" Close Program? and so it shuts down. Try to reload it and we are back where we started from. Have tried shutting down the laptop and restarting, but the same cycle starts again.

Any thoughts?

besides carry on using Firefox, which I am on now, seems a better deal all round and didn't seem to suffer from the problems on AB with the false downloads of Java and whatever the other one was last weekend, but I would like to get IE out of this ruddy loop

System Restore (from Start > Accessories > System Tools) may well do the trick.

Turn the PC off and back on again. Clear cookies and history for IE.
System Restore (from Start > Accessories > System Tools) may well do the trick.
I get this from time to time - we just switch off and start again.
System Restore is a little overboard for this problem. If it keeps happening after reboot then try a reinstall of IE.

Thanks for the advice. Had to resort to a system restore, which actually failed, but did appear to get around the problem, so all is well now, for the time being anyway.

Thanks again - Bill
