Best of luck, Spicey. And keep away from sharp implements.

3.15 Strat; Colonel beat Sergeant - RHIP :-(
Thought the 9lb concession to Tuesday might have brought Alpinista's great run to an end. Not a bit of it! Really good performance and now looks to be a real Arc contender?
Adaay In Asia takes a walk in the market but rides to the rescue and, together with the each way from the main bet (Connie's Rose withdrawn) gives me a decent enough profit for the 2nd day of the meeting. Unheard of :-)
A mixed bag today at York ; the Nunthorpe, the Gimcrack, some decent handicaps but also one of those impossible-to-decipher 18-runner maidens in which half the field have yet to see a racecourse.
Gonna go for a shower, then get the old slide rule and protractor out.
Hopeless yesterday and today's cards look no less tricky. No heroics today although I like the look of one long shot in the first. So done that as a single and put a punt or two together from the rest. Shame Stradivarius is scratched making Trueshan unbackable, and Reshoun needing second for place money. May have a f/cast. ****Win Acca, Trebles, Doubles. ⁕⁕Win Double. Good Luck if you are trying.

Amityaz @9/1 1.50Y(Single)
Bell Shot @5/2 2.15Nb⁕
Trushan 2.25Y
Auditor @9/2 2.50 Y⁕
Royal Scotsman @10/3 3.00Y*
The Platinum Queen @9/2 3.35Y*
Amanzoe @10/3 4.10Y*

*Operating @4/1 5.20Y. With *** from above list.
Good luck with those, Togo. Not much confidence behind my selections today, either - strong stats are quite sparse, though i have done the same as Wednesday in following a stable which has won the 3.00 3 times in the last 10 years - Kevin Ryan. Ryan's winner on Wed was Bergerac and though he has 2 in today's race, Catch The Paddy is a CD winner and looks to be the best of his runners. Done a couple of quid e.w. @ 18/1 to 5 places - not put it in the ITV 7 nor the placepot though.

1.50 York; Charging Thunder @ 12/1 (BB) - 6 places
2.05 Car; John Kirkup @ 17/2 - 4 places
2.50 New; Koy Koy @ 8/1 - 4 places
5.20 York; Golden Voice @ 7/1 - 6 places

Win singles, 20p L15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 places = £41, 4 winners = £8,452.

ITV 7; above qualifiers plus; Next Chapter, Trueshan*, Noble Style, Khadeem and Amanzoe.

*Omitted from the £1.50 e.w. acca.

Also done the mug's rev forecast; Chaging Thunder and Thundering in the 1.50.
Rev f/c Khadeem and Raasel in the 3.35 York and another e.w. bet on Al Marmar (25/1 - 6 places) in the last at York.

Will most likely play some of the other selections from the '7'.

Good luck, all.

3.00 Y; Noble /Style @ 3/1
3.35 Y; Khadeem @ 10/1 (BB) - £2 win single
4.10 Y; Amanzoe @ 16/5

£1 Trixie, £1 Treble for a poss return of near £477.

I'm not American and know it's a conspiracy.
Gemcutter just did to Match Play what Red Rum did to Crisp in the 73 National.
It's ruined Tudhope's day, (missed York, presumably, to ride the 2nd) Mr Clipper's day and most importantly my day.
Talking of weight differences, I was going to say, it'll be interesting to see how the 2y old runs in the Nunthorpe. Now I see Togo's wad is on it. Was going to ask Ken (our Statto) how they've managed in the past. Just heard on the telly, a 2yr old won it 15 years ago.
That Royal Acclaim looked like the future of British sprinting to me in his last race.
That'll probably last until about 3.36 this afternoon. lol.
If the first 4 or 5 of my ITV7 win, I'll type the last couple out.
Spice; don't know how many 2 year olds have actually taken part in the Nunthorpe, but since it's inception in 1922, 5 have won - '53, '54, '56, '92 and Kingsgate Native in 2007.

I don't know but I wouldn't think many enter. I expect those winners in the 50's were pulling the old Afghan schoolboy trick. ;-)
Was looking forward to Trueshan and Stradivarius?
Oh well, might be worth betting something now.
From what i can glean, there have been 4 taking part in the last 10 years - Chipotle in '21, Yalta and Prince Of Lir in '16 and Acapulco in '15 (runner-up to Meccas' Angel with the rest way behind).
Just for a few moments, i thought maybe the 2 y.o. was going to go clear. First 4 in the betting filled first 4 places, too.
With just the small return from the e.w. in the last, i'm back in more familiar territory after two days profit:-)

Mind you, Lunar Magic (7/1) has got my evening bet off to a flyer, winning the opener at Salisbury for the 2nd year in succession - stats:-)
Seconditis. Ahh well said the soul. Ahh soul said the well.

My confidence is at an all time low after yesterday. (and my diamond ran off with the village idiot 30yrs ago.) sob
Ergo, plus the fact I just don't fancy anything, I'll be reduced to a L15 on return Fav's in the first 4 races(York)
I'll give Summerghand? one more chance to laugh at me in the 4.10.
And in keeping with my upbeat mood I'll go 'full tilt' on Inthegutter in the getting out stakes.
Anyway, have a good and successful day. ;-)
Best of luck, Spicey. And keep away from sharp implements.

^Lol, ain't that bad, ken. Now, where did I put my Jim Reeves album?
On handy again so that I can have a wander on the prom. Complicated aint it? I had made my choices and was going through the list when I though ... You know what Frankie could have a good day. He has some nice rides, that I had run my pencil through, and I had only gone with the first race hotpot. So I put all six runners in a permed 6, 5, & 4fold punt with small stakes. I missed my chance yesterday after Ken gave us a Colonel beat Sergeant ,with a Queen beat Princess. ITV7 on and a couple of punts using the choices. **** E/W Acca, Tebles, Doubles. ⁕⁕⁕Win Trixie. Good Luck.

Mighty Ulysses 1.50Y
Grande Dame @9/4 2.05S⁕
Soul Stopper @9/1 2.25Y*
Desert Hero 2.40S⁕
Jumby @6/1 3.00Y(Free £5 bet 365)
Valley Forge @28/1 3.35Y*
Tabdeed @12/1 4.10Y*

⁕Rocket Rodney @13/8 4.45Y.(with⁕⁕ from above) *Bullace @9/1 3.40Ch.(with*** from above)
Trickiest day of the festival, as far as i am concerned, and my lack of confidence would reflect that. The following bets have been struck more in hope than anything scientific :-))

1.50 York; Alflaila @ 11/4
2.05 San; Fonteyn @ 11/4
2.40 San; Defence Of Fort @ 7/2

£1 Trixie, £1 Treble for a poss £174.

2.25 York; Soul Stopper @ 9/1 - 5 places
3.40 Che; Fools Rush In @ 13/2 (BB) - 4 places
3.50 San; Migdam @ 5/1 - 5 places
4.10 York; Spangled Mac @ 9/1 - 6 places

Win singles, 20p L15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £32, 4 winners = £5,319.

ITV 7; above qualifiers, plus; Rohaan (£2 win) and Ever Present (£2.50 e.w. with £5 free bet) £1 e.w. acca which would meet Sky's limit:-)

Also done the mug's rev forecast - Soul Stopper and Soulcombe - and the York placepot.

Best of luck, all.

And, yes i know this is a racing thread, but i can't believe the generosity of 365. They are offering evens that Kane has a shot on target in the 12.30 home game v Wolves. Max stake limits apply - i've had a tenner's worth, don't know what the limit would be.
I tried buying a tenner t'other week when they were offering evens for a Liverpool win away at Fulham, so if Kane does have a SOT (Surely?) i'll just be recouping the tenner i lost :-)
