When compiling the list of games for the following year, do the FA stick to the same fixtures year in year out based on the position in the league, or do they compile a new list mindful of the teams concerned ?

Just in case my question is as impenetrable as I fear it may be..............

Is the first fixture of the year always 1 v 20, 2 v 19, 3 v 18.........etc.

And if there is some other way, would you mind letting me in on it ?

Thanks......................:o)

Well assume a lot of things come in to play .The teams change promotion relegation .The may have more local derbys ..So I would assume for instance the would not want Spurs & Arsenal home on the same day .So a team from London say may replace a Midlands club this would change the listings again .They would try to keep some exciting game to the later stages.Like the city Spurs game tonight (come on you Spurs )

Wow, redman.............!!!

I guess I'm not going to be able to pass 'that' information on, in a bite-sized chunk :o)

Thankyou all very very much.
I think even the compilers themselves are confused jack ! lol
I think the police also have a say about match days and kick off times.
They do Thomas that is why Fixture compilation is so difficult.
