Waldo, this is the bit where god strikes goodlife dumb.
"Why any fool would believe in these 'modern' religions is beyond me."

What are these 'modern' religion?
He might believe that to be the case; I do not ;-)
^

Going off topic for just one second, may I just congratulate WaldoMcfroog with, imo, the best user name on AB.

Brilliant :)
godlife //So you believe that man can get along without reference to God, it may be true that you try to get along. But do you succeed, No, you don’t!! //

I succeed just fine without God. So does a huge group of my friends and family.

Meanwhile the Jehovah's Witnesses are a relatively small sect who don't seem to be succeeding much at all despite their imaginary God.
How dare you, Mr Bear. This is my real name, not a user name*.

I notice goodlife hasn't managed to answer my questions yet. Weird, huh?

* might be a lie.
^^ I still read it as McFrog – and see visions of an amphibian in a kilt. ;o)
Waldo, //I notice goodlife hasn't managed to answer my questions yet. Weird, huh?//

They've been answered for him.

Well, that's Ab Editor's view, and it's probably correct. It'd be nice to have goodlife do the decent thing and answer the question though.

locusts --- small SECT

why do we have so many relations or Christine groups -sect-- in the world today

WHY
because man has grown wiser through time and they think they know
better ??

Jesus Christ came to earth to put the Jews in their proper place they

jewish - scribes-pharisees ignored him. And put him to death (messiah)

The Jewish scribes-pharisees / knew of the arrival of the messiah

but they ignored the prophecy( holy writings)

act. 24 .5 Jesus or the messiah started a new SACT which became the Roman Catholics and breakaway churches// LIKE churches England and others (sect)

once again /

through passing of time man thinks he knows better and put traditions in front

of the holy writings

THIS warning is there for us to see today
Do you know the difference between an AB'er who posts in order to generate debate and interaction, and an Ab'er who asks Questions so he can tell you what the answer is?
Locusts, the Jews didn’t kill Jesus – and Jesus didn’t start a new sect. The Romans killed Jesus - and Christianity, fundamentally designed by Paul, a man who never met Jesus, developed after Jesus' death. You believe lies.
they don;t watch tele

I didn’t say death is better –
1 said it’s preferable to spending eternity with sycophants.

2 If you didn’t believe that in exchange for your precious intellect,

3 your God offers you an opportunity to escape death,

4 you would have no use for him. He would be redundant.

5 When life is over, human beings,
like everything else in the universe, die
locust
do every thing living just to win favors from the Creator
he knows --dishonest --hypocritical--untrustworthy
but not really his style //he uses -- friend-- friendship
2 for that love / exchange he is asking for love and he gives love
this is not a one-way exchange
3 yes, does give us an opportunity to cheat death - but this time we have
to work for it // not like Adam--eve---- through a way this opportunity of
life /give to them on the plates with only one condition which they fail on -
was love for their Creator
4 do think he would be may redundant.

because he is the giver of life and the Creator of life

if you take away life that means the trees the air we breathe the sunshine
and all the things which make up our life

so I don't think he would be may redundant.

he would still be their life
he didn't make us to be robots - zombies

^^^ Oooops, "copy and paste" went a bit weird on that one lol.
Locusts, A couple of points.

//for that love / exchange he is asking for love and he gives love
this is not a one-way exchange//

In that case both you and he know little of love. Love isn’t a bargaining tool – it can’t be manufactured at will and given in exchange for some benefit in return. It’s an involuntarily and unavoidable emotion that is given freely and unconditionally. What you’re talking about isn’t love – it’s intimidation.

//because he is the giver of life and the Creator of life ….if you take away life that means the trees the air we breathe the sunshine and all the things which make up our life //

Okay, we’ll assume that he creates life, but despite the presence of air and sunshine, all living things eventually die – and since you are just another element in a natural world, so will you. You are not special.

//he didn't make us to be robots – zombies//

That’s exactly what he’s made you. You bow to his will only under threat of death. You don't love him - you're afraid of him. To align your God with love makes a mockery of genuine love.
I'm not sure that there is any difference at all.

After all, all religions rely on there adherents accepting irrational belief in illogical circumstances. That's why all religions are so similar.

Trying to find a difference between them is like trying to find a difference between various stories by the brothers Grimm.

One might feature a witch and another might have a giant, but they are all fairy stories.

Just choose the one where you can have the most fun. Not having to give up too many pleasures would be an added bonus !

Locusts, the Jews didn’t kill Jesus –
-
You believe lies.

Locusts, Romans may have executed him physically at the place called skull.
But you need to check
that what I said was correct that the Israelites.

scribes and pharisees/ priest -intimidated -persuaded

the people at the trial to shout for Barabbas

kjv john 19 -15 we have no king but Caesar

this put Caesar in a very difficult position

so he washed his hands

so he have to comply with the Jewish Rabbi

and many times before they try to find ways to execute Jesus
Locusts, The New Testament is full of politics and propaganda. Outside the gospels, there is no record that the custom described of releasing a prisoner of the people’s choice even existed. The story was written long after the event with the intention of demonising the Jews – and it worked because people like you believe it. Jesus was a troublemaker – but his triumphal entry into Jerusalem just prior to his arrest and execution would indicate that he was popular with the people – the very people that a few days later allegedly condemned him to death. It makes no sense and it makes no sense because the truth is the priests conspired with the Romans, who in times of enormous political instability, saw Jesus as an insurgent - and that’s why they put him to death. I say again, you believe lies.

(By the way, Pilate allegedly washed his hands, not Caesar – although since there are no eye-witness accounts of the trial or of anything else, that can’t be confirmed either).
