if an unemployed person (for instance) has a baby or an accident and has no health insurance, who pays the bill, because there not left to die, as vinny jones said on bb it costs $30.000 to have a baby over there, who pays that,if the person involved has no money or assets
i believe medic care is for the over 60s only

it dosen't cost 30, ooo just to have a baby!
Federal law here in the U.S. requires treatment without consideration of payment for anyone visiting an emergency room of any hospital. Millions of dollars of health care costs are written off my hospitals for the indigent...
Between $5,000 - $10,000 to have a baby according to this.

Clanad what happens after the emergency treatment?
This morning BBC TV interviewed an American woman as part of their report on President Obama's health care program. For her to obtain a prescription medicine, a doctor's signature is required. She can't afford the doctor's fee for this. So, she and others in a similar situation are denied the (perhaps quite ordinary) medicines they need. In this day and age, this strikes me as being wholly unacceptable. I also have the uneasy feeling that strength of opposition to the the President's bill is solely the result of a very powerful hospitals and insurance companies lobby. The last thing they want to see is something that will cut into the large profits of their very lucrative market. For the opposition to hold up the UK Health Service as a horrid example, and moan about 'Nanny States', is a red herring. The US will be starting from scratch, This gives them an excellent opportunity to pick and choose the best and avoid the shortcomings from the health systems operated by countries round the world. 32 million people will undoubtedly be very grateful.
my brother is over there and his wife is expecting. Just for the birth alone, and a straightforward one, no sections or anything is £3-4000.
And we moan...!!
The NHS is a national treasure and the only reason I can think that people attack it is either a vested interest elsewhere or they have more money than sense.

Is it perfect no it isn't . Could it do with a good (but sympathetic) review yes it could.
but you should never vote for anyone who would dismantle it.

The stories on this page show how it could be for us. Those who have the money have ample access to private medicine and they should leave the rest of us alone.
