You go into settings, then wifi then available connections, click on your friend's assuming it comes up and then you will be asked for their password and you should connect.

Thank you .
You will also need to press the wireless button on the BT hub before you enter the password.
^^^ Are you sure, Tuvok?

The 'wireless' (WPS) button on a router is only used for connecting WPS-enabled devices (such as most modern printers) without the need for a password.

Otherwise simply looking for the wi-fi signal, connecting to it and entering the password should suffice (without any need to touch the wireless button).
Pretty certain you have to press it.

I always do so when letting sombody connect their phone or computer.
Never had to do it with my router,as Chris says all you need is Password.
I've visited plenty of independent pubs and cafes which (unlike places like Wetherspoon's, Tesco, Costa, et al) simply use standard routers (including BT hubs) to provide free wi-fi for their customers. While I've often needed to ask for the password to acces their wi-fi, I've never had to get a member of staff to press a button on the router.
I connected to my friend's BT router a few days ago and she just gave me the password.
