As there is still two months + to go - I should prefer HINTS only. I only have three left to do and so don't want to wait two months before I can finish it. Thankyou.

All answers are something to do with education - some very loosely!

46. As before I enter the mine with the tutor (7)
49. Take away the intermediate class (6)
54. To figure out how a change of menu leads to having a distinctive flavour (8)

Thankyou.

Haven't got No. 49 yet
Question Author
Thanks both - I am working on it
Question Author
I now have 49 - thankyou Geevo.
I am struggling though with the other two as I am obviously not using the right words for "as before" and "having a distinctive flavour". I shall keep trying - thank you in the meantime.
the word for 'as before' is really short
Question Author
I assume "ex" thanks Ellie, I also assume "I" and "mine", but I cant get anything. I shall probably go Doh!! shortly.
'ex' is wrong but the other 2 are correct
If you go 'Doh' shortly, you're there

Thanks
Question Author
Brilliant thankyou - got it
Well done.
jj,if you still need help with No.54 think Mathematics
Question Author
Thanks Ellie -I had previously tried every combination I could think of beginning "nume" or "enum". I can think of many that fit but none with "a distinctive flavour". Again I must be missing the obvious. Anagram of "sour" gives "numerous" but doesn't make sense. Numeracy, numerals, numerant, numerate...................
You've said it in your shortlist, check meanings of last four letters in some/all.
Question Author
Thank you - I have it now. I actually had it a long time ago, but never would have used the last 4 letters to mean "a distinctive flavour" although having just looked it up, it does give that as a definition in the dictionary.

Many, many thanks to Mamyalynne, Elliemay and Geevo.
Glad you're sorted.
Question Author
Thanks - I had to be spoon-fed though, didn't I?
I won't tell ;-)
I've been studying the help given for 46 but am still baffled. Can't see where the connection is for "doh" (as before) to 46.
Have 49 and 54.
