Looking further into "GOAD" I have found that the word is shown under "impetus" in the Moby Thesaurus. In Roget's Thesaurus "goad" is shown under the verb "impel" (definition: "to give impetus"). So I think it is Indian destination (GOA) + "D" for drawn. They don't make things easy, do they?

I have seen this answered as GOAD but I aslo don't know why!
Could it perhaps be Goa + d for drawn?

They most certainly don't but I think we got there in the end which is all that really matters
