I just checked. Chico was the eldest, as I thought. But maybe the answer is indeed Groucho, and if so I still don't see that it fits the clue perfectly. Thanks anyway..

Not one of Araucaria's best clues, but Groucho was the 'biggest' ( name) of the Marx Brothers.
