Did anybody watch this film (starring Timothy Dalton) which was on TPTV last night? I've just started watching it (duration 2hrs) but noticed in IMDB it was a four episode (x1hour) series. Any ideas?

Yes...you're confusing the film "Framed" with the TV mini-series "Framed"...both with Timothy Dalton.

Or rather...it was the same Lynda La Plante's drama...either as one film or split into a four-part mini-series. The film had a run-time of 3 and a quarter hours. Confusing, isn't it?

"Framed" with Timothy Dalton, Neil Morrisey and Timothy West is shown on IMDB as a four part series. I'm watching what I believed is a film (with Timothy Dalton, Neil Morrisey and Timothy West) which has a duration of two hours.

Framed is a British television crime drama series, created and written by acclaimed author Lynda La Plante, adapted from her novel of the same name. The four-part series, broadcast on ITV, ran from 27 November to 18 December 1992 ... For its broadcast in the United States, the series was edited down into one, feature-length special, of just 120 minutes long. It removed most of the first episode, which was filmed in Spain, and various scenes of Morrissey and Apsion from the other episodes. The series was remade in the United States in 2002, starring Rob Lowe and Sam Neill in the title roles.

The DVD is 3 hours 20 minutes, I can find no reference to a film version of 2 hours. I suspect you watched the heavily truncated series.

Thanks ellipsis. I've just watched that very version!

That's that mystery solved

Is it TVTP that splits some films in to two parts, one after the other? It messes up recordings if you don't notice

not them, Barry, but some of the other channels do: I remember ending up with only the second half of A Call to Spy, which was annoying because I'd been planning to discuss it with my sister.

Glad to help.

Thanks, jno
