65a] Trees found by the sea : Scandanavian. The quick clue is:- Fruit trees.
I have the answer 'peelers,' but I don't get the Scandanavian link.

Med-Lars
Peelers is definitely correct Cupid - this crossword is always a bit odd!
Question Author
Thanks you're a star ;-))
Glad we've now seen the full clue, I gave Medlars at weekend and was told Peelers was right but no citation offered.

Only had the quick clue in that question.

Ta both.x
Medlars seems fine to me
Of course it is.
Yes, I was responding to Margotester at 16:50. I'm clearly not as fast as we need to be on here
Medlars looks better to me - how does peelers parse?
Question Author
Yep, cryptic and easy clue lead to the same answer.
I'll let you lot fight it out amongst yourselves ;-) xx
Not fighting whatsoever, I was bemused and would love to see the parse for 'Peelers' that works in Sea and Scandinavian.

Glad it's now cleared up.

I think we are all agreed that medlars has it :-)
Ah, when you said you'd looked it up I thought you meant in a reference book - they're wrong, they often are.
Question Author
Margotester I still love you xx lol!
I sometimes wonder if mischief makers make sure some of these answers appear on Danword etc
Thank you Cupid :-))
Cupid, no one has fallen out trust me - a resolution can only be good.

Some of those sites can be useful, but sometimes they can lead you down a blind alley.

You're welcome!!!!
Didn't mean to cause trouble, no strength for fighting, got stinking bug, answered cos I saw it on screen as I walked past, didn't know about other answers, sorry. :-) x

Bleeuurghhh, back to the sofa...
