There is a crossword setter called Courtier COURTIER The pseudonym of John Barrett, former tennis player, TV commentator and author. He sets a tennis-themed cryptic crossword in the Financial Times each year at the start of the Wimbledon season.

Thought of courtier but ho does it fit with Setter?
Does the setter have a name?

It definitely ends in ie...r (that is and right)
Is this a special crossword relating to Wimbledon? Tennis court & 'sets' at tennis?
The setter of the FT is Roger Squires - a squire is a courtier - so might that be the parsing ?
