38d Egg - could the crosser be 'reGress' ?
Question Author
Lie-In King : I take your point, but the crosser for 'EGG' has to start with 'R' and end with 'E' - the 'E' being the last letter of 'INCHMAHOME' Priory?
Regrade ?
regrade (riːˈɡreɪd)
Definitions
verb

(transitive) to grade again
(intransitive) to fall back; to regress
Question Author
Then that just leaves me with the troublesome
23D : Descriptive of a Ländler (1,10) : A,?A?L?M?N?A - this time ending in an 'A' from REGRADE? could it be ending in something like ALLEMANIA?
Is the answer to 40 ac not " regrede"?
May I also ask a question of Lie-in King please? I know that Spenser uses the word presses in the Fairie Queene but where does the " squeeze" come in?
Steven
Sorry that should read " preasse" as the word that Spenser uses
Steven
Preasse = press (squeeze)
Thank you very much
Steven
