3 down. Clue: Clean up English decorations (7). I have: P?M?O?S. I feel it must be POMPOMS but can't see where "English" comes into it or where the "S" in the answer is arrived at. Enlightenment please.

clean = mop, and up makes it "pom"
Australian slang for English people = poms
