Is that where the final I in 7d comes from?

I ask because Tommy in a thread elsewhere asks.....

I am being stupid I know but the last clue is 4down. The rest came in about 30 minutes. What AM i missing??
Well, this is a mess. 5D - novel by einstein found in glassworks we hear (2,3,4) 9 letters when in fact it is ten letters. I have O?T?E???C? - help ? Any help with 14A, 28A and 15D would be appreciated
Also, in 8D Arrabin is wrong - it should be Arabin.
3D, Mitchell, is a lousy clue - the obvious answer is Blenheim a WW2 bomber which was involved with the Spanish Civil War. I am becoming increasingly disenchanted with this Crossword and its numerous mistakes - maybe i won't do it any more.
14a unbeliever 28a Some Do Not 15d Bumbledom
4d FREY (My Friend Leonard)
5d [letter count is clearly wrong--should be 2,3,5]
"Einstein ON THE BEACH" is a work by GLASS
3d MITCHELL comes close to all clues--altho it seems to have been a WWII bomber--Mitchell in American Civil War
