Mosaic has just referred to a line from this in a reply to me in another post of mine but who remembers this radio show with Kenneth Horne, Swarthy Bearded Betty Marsden, Kenneth Williams, Hugh Paddick ie Julian and Sandy etc back in the 60s, it was on every Sunday afternoon about 1.30pm as I recollect.

I think everyone remembers the classic sketch with Julian and Sandy as lawyers ........... "Bona Law" Homosexuality was against the Law back then. It didn't stop them from coming up with line........ "Mr 'orne......... yes, we have a criminal practice that takes up most of our time........ "

I do! Ooh, hello Mr. Horne. Bona to vader yer dolly old eke!
And there was Beyond Our Ken
Both shows are on Radio 4 Extra regularly, but not currently (give it a few months and they'll probably be back on).
Might be wrong, but I think it was on at 2.00p.m. as Two way family favourites, with Cliff Mitchelmore and Jean Metcalfe, broadcast from 12 till 2.

...and at 2.30 there would be, according to the season, Life With The Lyons, The Navy Lark or The Clitheroe Kid.

I remember 'Two Way Family Favourites' too but can't just recall the times.
was Ken Dodd on at 2 or 2:30?
Wasn't it called, "Educating Archie"? The whole concept of a ventriloquist on the radio still makes me laugh.
It was a great programme I really enjoyed it, although I thought it was broadcast earlier in the 50's, was Eth and Ron in that programme? Kenneth Horn, "I looked up and old friend the other day, believe me it was not a pretty sight". How harmless was that? and not a swear word, but it made me laugh in those days.

Who can ever forget Ramona Povey the siren of 'The Navy Lark played by Heather Chasen?
I think you're thinking of The Glums, with Jimmy Edwards, Eth and Ron.

That's radio for you.
That's right obiter The Glums but I thought they were part of some radio show. Perhaps it was Educating Archie. There were quite a few good ones then. The Goon Show was quite funny.
ITMA ? I don't remember it but had to answer questions about it when I worked in BBC publicity.
I used to like The Jimmy Clitheroe show, Sunday afternoon if I remember correctly.
There was a show called Take It From Here, which I can recall but not remember listening to as I was too young. I have a feeling that it starred Jimmy Edwards so maybe the Glums were in that.
Was The Glums ever a radio show in it own right, or was it always just a feature on Take It From Here?
"Have a Go", with Wilfred Pickles.
"Put the money on the table, Mabel".
